Introduction
It was in Granada that Federico García Lorca published his first book, in Granada that he studied law and in Granada that he was arrested in 1936. This Federico García Lorca free tour takes you on foot through the city's narrow streets in the footsteps of one of the most famous writers of the Generation of '27, while the guide recites some of his verses to you.
The walk sets off from Plaza Nueva and goes over the most important moments of his life, from his youth to his murder at the start of the Civil War. Along the way you'll stop in front of the printing house where he published his first book, Impressions and Landscapes, and the Faculty of Law where he studied before moving to Madrid.
The route ends in front of the facade of the Rosales house, where the guide will tell you how his arrest was plotted.
There are also Lorca routes outside the city: one through Fuente Vaqueros and Valderrubio, visiting the homes of his childhood, and one to Víznar and Alfacar, where he was murdered.
How it works
It's a walk around the centre of Granada. You can book up to 15 minutes before it starts, as long as there are places left.
