Introduction
Ernest Hemingway lived in Havana for more than twenty years. This Hemingway literary route in Cuba takes you to the fishing village, the bars and the spots he used to frequent, on a four-hour trip with pick-up from your hotel.
The first stop is Marina Hemingway, the largest marina in Cuba, followed by Fusterlandia, the colourful tiled house of the artist José Fuster. Next you'll reach Cojímar, the fishing village linked to The Old Man and the Sea, where you'll have a coffee and a Cuban rum at Las Terrazas, the place that Gregorio Fuentes, the captain of Hemingway's boat, used to frequent. There you'll also see the gazebo with the sculpture of the writer, made from metal collected by his fisherman friends.
The route ends at La Bodeguita del Medio and El Floridita, the writer's favourite bar and restaurant, where he used to meet up with his friends and acquaintances in Havana.
And to follow his trail in Spain, there's the Hemingway literary route through Pamplona.
