Introduction

King's Landing exists, and it's in Croatia

If you've watched Game of Thrones, you'll recognise Dubrovnik's walls as those of King's Landing. This free tour combines the history of the Croatian city with the locations where they filmed the series, which is based on George R. R. Martin's novels.

The route starts next to the Amerling Fountain, looking at Dubrovnik's origins, and goes down to the bay below the walls, where fans will instantly recognise the Battle of the Blackwater. Then you'll head into the heart of the old town: the Franciscan Monastery, the Onofrio Fountain, the Church of St Blaise, Sponza Palace and the Rector's Palace, moving from fiction to reality.

After the cathedral, the last stop is the Church of St Ignatius, which is the Great Sept of Baelor in the series: its steps are the ones from Cersei's walk of shame. Then the tour returns to the starting point.

How it works

A two-hour free tour of the old town

It's a free tour: booking costs nothing, and at the end of the route everyone decides how much they want to give the guide. It's on foot, lasts about two hours, is run in Spanish and returns to the starting point. The order of the stops may vary.

You can book up to an hour and a half before if there are places left. The meeting point may change depending on the day and time, so check your confirmation before you set off.
